The Essence Campaign is a special photography project by Cory Powell Photography. Our mission is to empower women through creating beautiful portraits showcasing their true essence of strength and beauty while reminding them how extraordinary they are. There is nothing more beautiful and powerful than celebrating your true, authentic self. I am a Springfield native who loves to sing.

What is your definition of beauty?

Beauty to me is way deeper then skin deep. Beauty is being able to change an atmosphere with just a simple smile or laugh. Beauty is having the strength to keep going even when all hell is breaking loose in your life.

Do you fit your definition of beauty?

Before my session I had times where I did and didn't feel beautiful. This experience helped to realize that know matter what size, or how old I am getting I can still be beautiful.

What about the woman you are today makes you uniquely powerful?

That even when life tried it's best to knock me down, and take me out. That I was able to get back up, and keep moving.

These photoshoots are about celebrating yourself. What do you want to celebrate about yourself?

That I am a strong, loving, and beautiful woman.
